Coronation Street Special: Hillman Exposed is a one-off documentary looking at Richard Hillman, his first appearance on the street and his transition from a financial conman to a serial killer with interviews from cast, writers and press. This special was originally shown on 14th March 2003 on ITV2 and repeated as late as 2005. Behind the scenes footage of Episode 5459 (12th March 2003), in which Richard kidnapped the Platt family and attempted to gas them to death before driving them into Weatherfield Canal, was shown within the programme.
