A further mutated Spyke, now armored and able to throw flaming spikes, now protects mutants, including Magma and Cannonball who are walking out of a library when Duncan pulls up and tries to attack them. Xavier is concerned and sends a reluctant Wolverine to talk to him, to no effect.
