If German carmakers were hoping to make us feel better about diesel, running tests on humans wasn't the way to do it! Volkswagen, BMW and Daimler are under fire after German newspapers reported that the car companies funded experiments on “short-term nitrogen dioxide inhalation by healthy people.” The tests apparently took place in 2013 and involved twenty-five people inhaling various amounts of the gas over several hours! All the subjects were reportedly fine after... which is more than I can say for diesel's reputation!
