Storyline
Annie looks forward with glee to the result of Ena and Emily reading her letter. Dickie looks forward to being 20 next week. Annie is amused when Emily is late getting up, thinking she's hiding herself away, though she tells Jack she blames Ena for the incident. Jack has misgivings about starting again in Majorca. Emily tells Annie that they've decided not to read the letter, instead making one last appeal to her to see sense. She insists they read it. Elsie refuses to let Ray be her lodger and Maggie is cold towards him. Having put it off, Ena and Emily finally read the letter. Emily feels ashamed and argues with Ena who feels no guilt over the situation. Minnie tells Ernie that Ena wants the camera shop flat inspected for rats before she moves in. Len refuses Ken's suggestion that he calls off the deal to sell his van. Ken and Maggie wonder if Ena will brave the Rov
