In honor of “General Hospital’s” 52nd anniversary, the past and future will collide. Select scenes from the very first "GH" episode that aired on April 1, 1963 will be revisited, and the story will be expanded in order to answer questions raised that day. Also, the truth about Luke will be revealed.

Jake is startled when he has flashbacks that involve Sam. Elizabeth shares the Jake situation with Patrick, while Patrick updates her on his status with Sam. In the interim, Ric is forced to cover up his scheme by informing Sam about Jake’s state of affairs. Luke’s family makes a difficult decision about his future. Carly and Lucas rally around Bobbie.

Cameron asks Ric for a favor. Later, Ric feels triumphed when Elizabeth gives into an emotional moment with him. Nikolas returns and is taken about with news that Elizabeth shares. Spencer concocts a plan to ensure Emma remains his, and also finds something that Nikolas is hiding. Sam and Patrick anticipate their future. Shawn and Julian have a confrontation that is interrupted by Jake.

Nikolas is stunned by Elizabeth’s news that Jake is married. Ric is caught off guard by a random proposition. Jake admits to Sam that he just had a strange sense of déjà vu about her, and later offers her a lift since her car broke down. Spencer’s pride his hurt by Emma when she refuses his promise offer. Nikolas tries to assess who could be claiming to be “Jake’s” wife. Ric wonders if he might have another chance with Elizabeth. Jake overhears Carlos and Julian plotting to take someone out. Patrick is apprehensive about Sam and Jake’s friendship. Michael is furious over Kiki and Morgan’s actions. As a result, Michael confronts them and makes a scene. An incident changes the future of Baby AJ’s custody. Nathan catches Lucas up on his status with Maxie. Nina arrives at GH looking for Silas. Spinelli asks Maxie if he thinks the two of them have a chance. Ned is faced with a tough choice. Julian has a proposal for Olivia.

Nathan opens up to Maxie. Not long after, Spinelli returns to Maxie’s and they get a surprise visitor. Sabrina asks Felix to investigate Michael’s allergy medication. Franco is curious about Nina’s whereabouts. Baby Avery faces a precarious predicament. Lulu is not ready to forgive someone’s actions. Bobbie informs Luke about his future.

Spinelli sets up a meeting with Sam to enlist her help on his latest case. Jake is not pleased that Spinelli is investigating Hayden. In the interim, Sloane pressures Jake to find out what the Jerome’s are contriving. Both Duke and Julian plan their next hits. At the end of the day, a big reveal happens that will change everything, and another Port Charles resident will learn the truth about Jake’s identity.

The Nurses Ball continues. Cameron and Emma’s tango is interrupted when Spencer makes a dangerous play for Emma’s hand. Once Spencer is home, he receives an unexpected visitor. Lucy blindsides Anna and Duke by asking a request of them at the Ball. Jake makes a confession to Carly. Nikolas comes clean to someone.

The Nurses Ball concludes. At the last minute, Elizabeth makes an unanticipated decision. Sloane tells Jake some information about the latest mob hit that does not sit right with him. Spencer receives some guidance on how to put things into perspective.

Nikolas is blackmailed by Hayden. Anna and Duke admit their true feelings for one another. Duke tells Anna that he will leave the mob for her and wants to start a new life with her away from Port Charles. Sam has some apprehensions about keeping a secret.

4th of July activities begin in Port Charles. Luke and Laura are stunned by the appearance of a former enemy who is out for revenge. Maxie questions Dante on Lulu’s whereabouts, and later tells Nathan she is indignant that Valerie is with him while Lulu is away. Meanwhile, Nathan calms Maxie down and the two reminisce about last year’s July 4th. Sonny updates Carly on Morgan and Dante’s issues. Denise makes an admission to Franco. TJ has a special gift for Molly as they watch the fireworks.

Dante and Valerie continue to bond. After making an admission to Franco, Denise “Ava” has a proposition for Franco in regards to Nina. In the interim, Nina and Silas bring each other up to speed on their lives. Jake and Sam agree to keep their Nikolas investigation a secret from Elizabeth and Patrick. Elizabeth lets Jake know that she is worried because she has not heard from Lucky. Luke and Laura risk their lives in order to get to Lucky in time.
