With the help of Mr. Hooper and Maria, he quickly gets ready and heads to school, where he experiences a series of amusing and educational moments. Big Bird struggles with fitting in at his desk, learns classroom etiquette, and proudly counts to ten, impressing his teacher, Mrs. Merkel. He also navigates recess, the drinking fountain, and the restroom situation with Kathy's help. Throughout the day, Big Bird participates in various activities, including singing, answering questions, and making new friends. By the end of the day, he returns home excitedly sharing his experiences with Maria and presenting her with a woodworking project he made. The episode is filled with songs, muppet skits, and educational segments that enrich Big Bird's school adventure.
